Congrats to the SWAC for winning their Super Bowl with SLU's lengthy winning streak coming to an end in an 11 inning victory by Texas Southern.

Super Bowl, you ask? On the SWAC boards, they are celebrating this game like it is something special and the best thing to happen on the face of the planet - trying to rub it in the face of any off-guard SLC fans.

What's the line about the squirrel? The SLC was 15-0 against the SWAC this year before the TSU win over SLU today (that 15-0 includes Nicholls closing out their three-game sweep against Southern today).

Funny how one victory gets all the SWAC folks all riled up? Where were they during the previous 15? This is an annual occurrence when the SWAC gets their one or few wins against the SLC...

All facts in perspective, sounds like a down year for the SWAC...

Texas State takes a 4-0 lead in the 2nd with a 3 run HR over No. 4 University of Texas. Go into the eighth with a 5-3 lead with two outs and Bobcats RF drops a pop fly which leads to three unearned runs to come in for the Longhorns. Longhorns take their first lead of the night and hold on to it to close out the game 6-5 in Austin. Big error costs the cats the game over another Big XII opponent. Frustrating to see that in person!

CCU finished the regular season at 47-7 (25-0) b/c the last game was rained out. As far as anyone can tell this is the most conference wins in the history of D1 baseball a team has had that finished the season undefeated. CCU is the only Big South team to go undefeated. In 1988 they were 15-0 in conference.

Per Josh Hoke's blog from The Sun News: No team in a conference that still exists has won more than 18 conference games to finish undefeated over the last 40 years, according to research by The Sun News and the Big South. It is possible that Coastal had more conference wins to complete an undefeated run than any team in college baseball history.

Cal Poly shattered a school Division I baseball record with 32 hits as all nine Mustang starters collected at least two hits in a season-ending 25-8 non-conference victory over Cal State Bakersfield on Sunday at Baggett Stadium.

Cal Poly’s nine doubles also is a school Division I mark for doubles in a game as the Mustangs finished the year 23-32, winning 13 of their last 18 games after a 10-27 start.
