COMPTON, Calif. -- College baseball will be coming to the Major League Baseball Urban Youth Academy once again when the third annual Urban Invitational Baseball Tournament is held this weekend, beginning on Friday and including games on Saturday that will be broadcast live on MLB Network.

The three-day event, scheduled to conclude on Sunday, helps spotlight Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) by giving them national exposure. Bethune-Cookman University of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Southern University of Baton Rouge, La., will appear in the tournament for a third straight year.

Joining them will be local universities UCLA and Cal State Northridge, with the Bruins making their second appearance in the tournament and the Matadors making their first.

Did anyone catch the Steven A. Smith show this morning. Him and Harold Renolds discussed this event and talked about SU's Coach Roger Cador xthumbsupx , and the great job he is doing.
