UCA's New Logo

I like the new logo - sans the 'paw' version.

The other ones look solid and is another great step in getting your department's act together for the full Div I approval. It's truly a Div I look.

Nothing against the new logo, I simply like the old stuff. Sticking with history and tradition is always a good thing. You don't see folks like LSU, Michigan, USC, Alabama, Georgia, Penn State. Ohio State, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, ect changing.

What would Penn State change? None More White, huh?

I, too, am a fan of tradition and the old stuff - unless it comes to Lafayette going back to the "Hello Kitty" paw print that used to be on its helmets, for example. Some old-school helmets (e.g., Holy Cross, W&M, Colgate, Yale, Delaware) should never change. Others are for the better.

Having said that, I like the new UCA logo, especially the one with just the initials and the bear head. It's really not a change as much as it is an updating of the traditional UCA logo using modern graphic methods.

That bit about tradition doesn't quite work here. UCA is relatively new to the division. It'd be one thing if they'd had this logo for 50 years and had been DI for a long time. Moreover, I think the new logo is really just an improvement of the old one. It's not like they altered the colors or the mascot.

I like the old the old letter arrangement, but with the new bear logo. That would be the best combo imo.

True enough but those programs are more than established in all D-1 sports. UCA is the new kid on the block and I like their new look. Some of those teams you mentioned literally have been around over 100 years- they are a national brand.

There's something generic about the new logos that I don't care for. On their own, it's pretty solid, but it reminds me a bit too much of other newer designs

On the other hand, the old logo was a dead ringer for Kentucky, so I guess it's not a huge deal

I like the old one better. The new one is too symmetrical. The pose of the bear in the original logo is much more dynamic.

That is still up in the air...probably will still be around this coming season unless we get a nice little donation to pay for the new helmets.

True, but it's not used an "official" logo anymore. The comment was made that you would never see certain schools do that, LSU was included. I like the new UCA logo, I just hope it translates to a better helmet design. I am not a fan of the "UCA" lettering on their current helmets.

Yeah. Trust me, the team applies a new set of decals each year. All they would have to do is order different decals. Now the question is, was/is there enough time to place the order to outfit the helmets with a new logo?
