With PA passing table gaming, it looks like the issue of Delaware teams potentially being banned from hosting playoffs could potentially be back on the table. The State of Delaware will appeal to the US Supreme Court the ruling of the Third Circuit Court of Appeals that limited Delaware sports betting to parlays. Should single game betting be allowed by SCOTUS, the NCAA has stated that Delaware teams would not be able to host playoffs.

Eventually gambling will be allowed everywhere - I don't think this is the lawsuit to make it happen so I think the Hens are certainly safe for now - heck it would be nice to be back in the playoffs let alone worry about where we're playing. :o

Wow. Markell persuaded the three racinos to pay the legal fees instead of bleeding State coffers still further. That's a little iffy from an ethical standpoint.
Anyway, it's a waste of money however you raise it. Delaware should focus on moving up the timetable on table games if it expects a bigger gambling "take" next year. Just sayin'.

I've said it before, slots with no table games is a TERRIBLE idea. You're targeting eldery and low to moderate income folks. xnonono2x

Once they get table games I may not get out of the casinos.

Not the point. Gambling is a losing proposition for the gambler. I'm just not happy with whom they are targeting. Ever walk past the slot machines at a casino? A bunch of elderly and lower income folks throwing their Social Security and goverment income away 25 cents at a time. It's sad to watch. xsmhx

It really is sad. I've mentioned it before, but it's a visual that stuck with me when I strolled through Dover Downs slots section on the way to a banquet: the really frequent-flyer elderly folks have their casino credit cards on lanyards, which they have inserted into the machine while playing, so you look down each row and see 20 old timers literally leashed to the machines. xsmhx

It's almost like a sci-fi movie where the people are being controlled and tied to the machines. xsmhx
Looks nothing like this...
