Wofford beats USC 68-61! Great win for Mike Young and the Terriers....Here's a puzzler though, we are 2-0 against the SEC and 0-2 in the SoCon?xeyebrowx

You never know. We're both catching them while their down, but I suspect the loss to us might be a motivator against you. Sorry, but wishing you luck.

I was feeling optimistic (probably not as optimistic as you guys) but losing to SC State was a kick in the pants. xsmhx

Not a great year for SEC basketball

And a worse year for Pac-10 Bball. Unless I missed something, they are the worst ranked BCS and behind Atlantic 10 and they only have 1 ranked team Washington (in the 20s).

Just to clarify... the USC in my post stands for Univ. of South Carolina, not Southern California.

Whoops. That's an even better win then. Congrats.

Anyone find it ironic that one USC is the Cocks and the other is the Trojans?

was at the game last night. Furman played tough in the first half (USC missed a lot of shots and sloppy sloppy passing). FU took advantage and kept it within a bucket at the break. Rebounded VERY well too, but USC had 3x as many steals and began hitting 3's in the second half to really pull away.

All in all I thought Furman played pretty well. Just a few too many turnovers, and some key missed shots swung the game wide open.

I was glad my Cocks rebounded after the Wofford loss though.

That 7 or 8 minute period during the second half where FU turned the ball over just about every possession was fugly. Part of it was USC's speed and quickness. Downy (sp) is certainly fast and skillful. but a large part of it was horrible passing and downright sloppy play. I am sure they were rattled but it wasn't pretty.

Yeah, but it's always annoying to the rest of the country - USC is the Trojans, especially in sports like football and basketball. South Carolina's always been a poorer namesake in that regard. I wonder how far out from South Carolina do people refer to South Carolina as USC?

here's the thing about that. South Carolina was founded first. The original USC. Then Southern Cal came along and began using it. So South Carolina actually began using just SC. Now it seems SoCal likes the SC moniker....so they need to get a damn identity and let us be. xnodx

Is that true, though? South Carolina didn't finally become a University for good (were just a college before then) until the early 1900's - the USC in California was a University, I believe, since the 1880's.

Plus, the California one got the usc web address so they win there. :p

You haven't been paying attention. South Carolina is a seperate and independant nation occupied by the betrayers of the constitution. We don't care what the rest of you thinkxsmiley_wixxlolx

How about USC bouncing back from this loss and drubbing Tennessee by 20+. O'Neill doing a good job so far.
