Mariani is a Hell of a Player....I was amazed last year seeing him at the NC...and he is a walk on. Good for this kid!!

I'm really still not following all this "it's automatic that Szczur is going to be a high pick in the upcoming draft" talk. Have any scouts actually confirmed this? I think they're latching on to the fact that he was a dominating baseball player in a small conf in SJ in HS.

I've seen him play in about 15 games last year, and while he was a nice player, I really only saw a singles hitter, with SB potential. He was very average in LF. Now I get it, he doesn't focus on baseball 100% of the time, so the argument can be made he could possibly be better if he was able to spend more time with it, but I don't ever see him developing power, which is needed at the corner OF positions.

I really think he has NFL potential, and that's his best bet at being a professional athlete. With baseball, I think he maxes out at AA.

I really believe if the PL can ever get scholarships those teams can. They have in the past and HC gave 'Nova a good run this year. They've hung in there in recent years but haven't gotten over the hump. The CAA is just soo good right now.

I know it's a level down, but watching the D-II championship game last weekend, NW Missouri State had made it to FOUR straight championship games and had lost each one, until finally winning in #5 last weekend. The coach said the other coaches at the school were kiddingly calling him "Marv"...as in Levy. THOSE guys you had to feel bad for, but it finally paid off!

The SoCon is a good conference and has been .500 vs. the CAA this decade.

ASU has been the majority of those wins and have owned the CAA this decade including 2 of 3 from the best 3 spider teams ever fielded. We have an open date and so do you let's line 'em up again Bettina in 2010.

We as FCS fans are fortunate to be able to watch games like we've seen over the past few weeks-games that showcase great football,and actually mean something.Meanwhile FBS followers are salivating over tommorow's bowl games involving such awe inspiring contests as the St.Petersburg Bowl,and the New Mexico Bowl.It gets better on Sunday when the New Orleans Bowl airs.I don't know who's playing in that one,but I can't wait. xlolx
