Oh, I've already gone down that road. It isn't as pretty as CAA fans like to think.

I join CAA fans in celebrating their fantastic achievements this year and this decade, but the mindless declarations that CAA is strongest conference of the decade is without basis. For example, SOCON leads in the numbers of national championships won, percentage of playoff games won, and head-to-head playoff victories versus the CAA.

SOCON has won 9 of 17 head-to-head match ups versus the CAA in the past decade, including two national championship games.

2000: No head to head match ups
2001: App > W&M
2002: Villa > Furman, Maine > App, Ga So > Maine
2003: Wofford >Delaware
2004: UNH > Ga So, JMU > Furman

There is absolutely no point in arguing if the CAA is better.. hell, they think they are better than the SEC, ACC, Pac 10, etc.. C'mon guys, it's completely obvious that the CAA can not be touched by any one..

Last rumor I heard -- West Virginia, UVa, and Pitt all want to leave their respective conferences and join the CAA so they can get some real competition.

i love how fans from non-App State SoCon schools love to ride the coattails. i see BSC doing the same thing with Montana.

who would be riding coattails in the CAA? Delaware? no, they have a title. what about UMass? nope, title there too. JMU? Title. Richmond? Title. Nova? we'll see. must just be a huge coincidence that we have different schools winning title after title after title after title. moral of the story: don't claim conference superiority if your team is doing nothing to help the conference's image. App State has the right to sell their program as one of the best in the country. but don't fly the SoCon banner, you have to fly the App State banner until another SoCon program gains relevance.

You're right.. that whole 1-2 years without "relevance" makes the entire conference weak for the past 47 years.. Man, why didn't I think of that?? Great logic..
