My girlfriend won some tickets to the St. Pete Bowl. I've only seen Rutgers play once (when they slaughtered USF) I don't know much about them. Can anybody clue me in on the Scarlet Knights?

The game is sold out so it should have a great atmosphere. xthumbsupx

They start a true FR QB who has actually played pretty well this year and they have WR talent. They play decent defense, they should beat UCF.

Sanu and Savage are probably two of the top 10 rookie tandems in the country. They were highly sought after and totally dynamic.

Both, IMHO, are sure-fire NFL'ers.

They smash it down your throat with the run (really crafty and tough back...forget his name) and Savage is by far the best signal caller they have had in lord knows how many years. Sanu catches just about all thrown to him.

Defensively...they flat out bring the wood...attacking from everwhere.

Should be a good one.

I'm hoping for a decent close game, that way I can stay for most of it. xlolx

Joe Martinek is their top rusher with 925 yards this year. He is a bruising runner with good open field speed.

Savage likes to throw to Tim Brown and Mohamed Sanu. Brown is questionable for the game with an ankle sprain. Sanu runs the wildcat.

Defensively they like to come at the QB with everyone. Their best defensive player is Devon McCourtey CB.

Thanks for the input guys xthumbsupx as I said earlier I only saw rutgers once and that was against a usf team that basically quit that night.

Even if I had free tickets I wouldn't go through the traffic and the trouble to go see Rutgers play Central Florida. Of course I'm old. Don't know if I'd do it if I were young either, though. Definitely a "I'll just watch it on TV" type of game.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that they are the best Rookie tandem in the country.

While doing other things and only occasionally looking up to check the score.

Yes-- Sanu is one of the best Freshem in the country.

The kid can play RB, reciever, etc.

If he played at Florida ESPN would be talking about him non-freakin stop.

Rutgers was pretty young this year and played a very week OOC schedule. Notwithstanding, Schiano is a great coach and his kids play very hard for him.

Schiano is certainly a great recruiter. The one criticism I would have of him is that his teams tend to not show up for certain games. The Syracuse debacle this year is an example. Rutgers needs to learn how to win those kind of games.

Also, can they beat West Virginia at least once every 15 years!
