IMO the way these offenses are playing (or how well the defenses are playing) both teams will lose xsmiley_wix

Not from me, said the same thing about attendance at ASU's home game against SCSU, it's a shame.
Looks to be about 6-7K, does that sound about right? Lots of metal showing from about 25 yard lines in.
Whitney (sp?) needs to change his spikes at half time. Both defenses look stout though.

In past seasons, we've typically won shootout style. In the 2004 playoffs, we didn't give up less than 35 in any of our 3 games. Laycock is well known as a bright offensive mind. However, this year, the D is so good, we're much more conservative and pick our spots.

Most of those misses were over 40. He was mostly automatic inside 40. His range is 50, but his accuracy goes to hell over 40 yards. I was a little surprised he was 2nd team, but I think he made it on sheer quantity of FGs made (including 4/7 against UVA).

Yes, as some mentioned on the pregame thread, our red zone offense was terrible to start the year, so he was kicking a lot. Thought we moved the ball really well inside the 20 in the first half...of course, it was our own 20, but hey possibly more important than the red zone the way this game is going xrulesx

I'm going to be honest, and don't know much about W&M.. are they known as an offensive team? I know they're a good defensive team, but haven't heard much about the offense, but they look like they are doing just fine on the offensive side..
Historically speaking, W&M has an explosive and high scoring offense. The D was historically.....not real good. It was always a matter of we would need to put at least 35 on the board and hope for the best.
This year completely breaks the mold for us (and we saw glimpses of it last year). The D this year has been the strongest part of the team. So it's pretty new for us Tribe fans to have full confidence in the D, and not freak out when the O only puts 20 on the board. xthumbsupx

Yes, as some mentioned on the pregame thread, our red zone offense was terrible to start the year, so he was kicking a lot. Thought we moved the ball really well inside the 20 in the first half...of course, it was our own 20, but hey possibly more important than the red zone the way this game is going xrulesx
not sure many people read the pre-game thread, apparently there was "another" thread that garnered most of the attention...excuse my ignorance, i had no idea ANY kicker in fcs had attempted 33 field goals this season.

The O is looking pretty good right now against a solid D..
Although, its been the same routes the entire time -- but until it stops working, I say continue it

He led the CAA in net yards per punt this year. Doesn't appear to be dealing well with the cold. He generally is a punt it high and create the fair catch type of punter, but the punts that usually go ~40-45 yards are going ~30 yards tonight.
