Just reported on channel 36 news in North Carolina that UNC-Charlotte's Board of Trustees has voted unanimously to go forward with the football plan. In addition, they've decided to go ahead and build the entire stadium (apparently they were going to build it in phases and use temp bleachers perhaps?
Great news - hope to have ya'll join us in the SOCON (although I hear that the CAA has a few openings!!xlolxxlolxxlolx)

So...with news reported that UNC-Charlotte is moving ahead with its football plans...a whole new monkey has been tossed into this conference thing. You would have to think that the CAA throws a bone to them for all-sport membership. They would be crazy not to.
But...the SoCon would probably want them as well.
And how about the A-Ten...do they reshuffle to keep UNC-Charlotte and start up A-Ten football again and try to scoop up some teams.
This really just puts the whole landscape into a WTF situation.

Why is this moved to Other Sports-- this clearly affects the FCS world.

I don't the SoCon wants them unless they have a commitment to long term membership. My guess is they wouldn't.
