I have friends on the staffs at both Apopka and Edgewater...

... Apopka and Deland will be a WAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Two very fast, athletic and physical teams. Look for a low scoring game.

Edgewater dropped down from 6A yet still played the big school schedule and still stands 10-3 despite playing Apopka, Boone, Olympia, Winter Park... they will be tough in 4A.

Did you guys see the article in SI about Pahokee and Belle Glade regarding the muck bowl. Very interesting piece, but it looks like they are both out of the playoffs.

Belle Glades is still in the playoffs... Pahokee had 8 players commit to FBS schools in their current SR class, for a school that small that is nothing short of phenomenal.

I made a mistake in my previous post Glades is 2A I think Pahokee is 2B. When you add in Glades Day there's a lot of good football in that area.

The Miramar/Miami Central ggme is probably within 40 miles of you but if you plan on attending a kevlar jacket and an uzi might be a good idea...

Plant is carrying the Hillsborugh County (Tampa) flag against Lakeland. Many a Hillsborough team good and bad have had their season ended in Lakeland. This is probably the county's best shot. Should be an exciting game. Wish I could make it. The road to Orlando runs thru Lakeland for Tampa teams just like it does in reality.

I'm understandably more interested in the Louisiana championship games this week. They'll all be televised on Cox Sports Television. Tomorrow it's 2A with Evangel vs. John Curtis and 3A with Notre Dame of Crowley vs. Parkview Baptist. Saturday it's 1A with Haynesville vs. South Plaquemines, Neville vs. Franklinton, and West Monroe vs. Rummel. Those familiar with Louisianan High School Football will recognize a lot of big names there and this is one time when there are no prohibitive favorites. Should be really good.

I wish more Baton Rouge teams made it to New Orleans, Capitol had a shot to beat Evangel. Catholic laid an egg against West Monroe. All those games look good, I miss going to the dome for these games.

After watching Evangel beat John Curtis 18-13 last night, I really have to tip my hat to Capital's offense. I can't find the statistics again but Capital had over 400 yards of offense against Evangel and their running back rushed for over 200 yards if I remember correctly. They lost in overtime by one point because they went for two to win and their back fumbled just before he crossed the goal line for what would've been the winning conversion.

John Curtis had one 80 yard TD run on its first offensive play and after that Evangel pretty much entirely shut the Patriot running game down. I'm pretty sure they ended up with less than 200 yards total offense. If not they didn't get much more. Usually Curtis has a quarterback who can be effective throwing the ball if they decide to do that but this time they didn't.
