Temple is Bowling!! After 30 years we've finally made it back. Temple accepted an invite to the Eagle Bank Bowl in Washington D.C. The cool thing is will only be 2.5 hours away from Philly. If Navy beats Army this weekend we'll play UCLA. If Army wins it'll be a rematch with the Black Knights. I'm obviously pulling for Navy. The biggest negative is the game will be played Tuesday Dec. 29 at 4:30 pm. It's going to be frickin cold.
Northwestern is playing in a New Years Day bowl.
WVU-FSU, well they did end up screwing WVU. No way does FSU derserve to be in this game over Miami. WVU vs the "U" could have been the best game on NYD. Instead we get to watch the Mountaineers beat up on 6-6 Seminole team.

I think the MWC has some stretch games with the matchups against Oregon State and Houston but both AF and BYU are tough teams, so even worst case I don't see them losing in blowouts. It will be interesting to see which Cal team shows up against Utah, as it will either be Utah in a blowout or a barnburner. I'm finding it hard to care about Wyoming, although I think Fresno State is a good program.

Congrats Temple Owls! First bowl game since 1979 Garden State Bowl vs. California which Temple won. It was the first and only Garden State Bowl too. MAACO reportedly paid $3 million to sponsor the Las Vegas Bowl. MAACO is owned by Meineke which sponsors the Meineke Car Care Bowl in Charlotte. I guess Ken Walker, CEO of Driven Brands (which owns Meineke & Maaco and Econolube, etc) wanted to go to a more resort oriented venue over the holidays.

with more time to practice this game will be better than most think, most likely it will be a shoot out because the Noles don't play any D. If it ends up like the last time these two played in the Gator Bowl it'll be fun.

Where was this outcry when Clemson (who got beat by FSU last year went to the Gator Bowl when everyone expected FSU to go?) went last year, they had to approve this with the ACC so unless Miami voted no then there is no arguement.

Clemson was 7-5 last year so I don't get the outrage is one game over .500 really that different. (Not directed at you just making a statement in general)

I have a tough time going through that list and seeing a game I would mark my calendar for and make sure I'm at home to watch it. If there's nothing else on and if I've cleared out my TiVo, sure, I may watch a little of some of those games. But on the whole, nope, no interest in pretty much any of them.

Only if I happen to stumble across one and it's a close game in the fourth quarter. I'm enough of a football fan that I'll usually watch a game like that to its conclusion, even if I don't care about the teams. But yeah, I'm not exactly planning my life around watching any of these games in their entirety.

Fans of the teams maybe? Fact is is when there's no chance to win a title, winning a bowl game is the best thing you can do for your program. And the wellness of your program financially kind of depends on making one.

Not to mention the players. I don't care about most of these games personally, but I've never been offended by the fact that they exist. It's not like we're forced to watch them. If a bowl gives the athletes a chance to play one more game, I'm ok with that.

I watch as many as the bowl games as possible, I try to keep in mind that this is the final stretch of college football games for the next 8 and half months. I have a large collection of college football dvds to last me through the off season, between the dvds along with ncaa basketball and the nba will get me through til the season starts over.

As for the Clemson/FSU situation:
Gator only has to take ACC runner up once in 4 yrs. They took 7-5 Clemson last year over 8-4 FSU, irritating FSU and most of the ACC. Thjis year FSU worked a deal with them so Bowden's last game could be in Fla vs WVU. This is the last year for the ACC-Gator deal, next year it's Big East-SEC.

I think SC puts 50 on BC if they're nice, 70 if they're not.
GA-Tx A&M should have about 70-80 pts in it.
Fourth time in 10 yrs Clemson and Ky. play
BYU-Ore State might be fun.

Oklahoma has a very good defense. Should be interesting to see how Stanford's back does. Tennessee gave both Alabama and Florida all they wanted and also has a good defense. A game between them and Virgnia Tech should be very good. It will be very physical. Ole Miss has been inconsistent but has Dexter McCluster. The matchup with Oklahoma State should be very interesting.

Being from PA & having seen PSU play all year I'm mystified how you came to that conclusion. PSU hasn't beat a really good team all year, much less do it by double digits. (Don't tell Mich St is very good). I think the PSU-LSU game will be one of, if not the best non-BCS game.
