With the stepping down of bobby bowden, jimbo fisher will be the new head coach, but why. Florida state has gotten worse since jimbo got there, why not go after mark over at uga, or another big name coach. Good luck fsu, because you're gonna need it.

If you think fsu has gotten worse since jimbo got there you must don't remember the jeff bowden years. The offense was clicking before ponder got hurt against clemson. Now I don't know what kind of head coach he'll be but if he can get a good dc and instill some pride in the team he'll be ok.

Others on here may have a better view on this than what I can add, but a buddy of mine that's a big Florida State fan went to the game at Wake this year. He said Bobby didn't do anything but stand on the sideline, blow his nose and talk in the headset every now and then. He got the impression that Jimbo's been running the show for awhile now.

Clemson showed this year that if you dump the Bowden HC, the OC can turn the program around.
Just sayin'.

that's what he's been doing for the past few years now. but truthfully the issues are on the defensive side of the ball. The offense is still young, although the backs need to secure the ball better.

JIMBO FISHER-- will be a failure of epic proportions. Facts: he recruited most of the kids playing now. His offense is only good because Ponder is a future pro. His defensive accumen has yet to be tested.
FSU will have a new coach in three years.

Pretty much the case. My cousin is a former OL during the Charlie Ward years and he is not happy with the Jimbo move. Jimbo has been running the show no matter what people want to say. The only area of argument, because of the friendship between the coach and Bowden, was the defensive side of the ball.
That said, when Jacksonville State holds you to almost nothing for nearly 4 qtrs...I am not sold.

i watched that game, they were horrible, but the main culprit was turnovers. Like I said earlier who knows what Jimbo is gonna do but the time was now to make a change. Look at where the offense ranked this season and tell me that wasn't an improvement over the last few years. I remember a few years ago they were averaging less than 80 yards rushing.
Looks like Bobby will get to go to the Gator Bowl against his old school.

I am fine with Bobby retiring...its time. Penn State caught lightening in a bottle.
I still think Jimbo has a fat head...and this will be ugly. Hopefully, I am wrong.

Other than going winless how much uglier can it be, they already have the 12th ranked defense in the ACC. No way the offense will be worse.

FSU's offense is easily as good as it has been since Bowden hired his son to be OC in 2001. If Ponder had been playing against Florida there's no doubt in my mind they would have scored more against Florida than anyone has this year.
If Fisher gets a decent DC, then FSU is back.
