Not sure if this has been on here - story and pic of the Oregon cheerleader who was hit in the head with a water bottle thrown by someone in the Arizona crowd at the end of Arizona's loss at home to Oregon last Saturday. The cheerleader was knocked unconscious and had to stay overnight in a hospital.

Again, I am shocked, just shocked that this happened. I mean, the national media has convinced me that this kind of behavior only happens in Philadelphia and that there are no cases of fan misbehvior anywhere else in America. Truly shocking.

Another Philly person made it out of Philly? Who wasn't watching the gate?

Oh and "shotgun" on her.

That would NEVER have happened in Philly...

It would have been a bottle of Maddog or cheap whiskey instead. xlolx

All those Arizona kids were leaping out of the stands to storm the field, when their team screwed the pooch and lost in OT. Another year without a Rose Bowl for Arizona.

I'm pretty sure the one on the left is Robin Pflugrad's (Montana WR coach) daughter

Remember after the Phillies won the World Series last year and someone hit a guy standing on a traffic signal in the head with an empty bottle of Grey Goose? What city was that GF?

Either the thrower or the victim are from Philly - I'm surprised it wasn't a D cell battery.

Yep this stuff only happens in Philly. Never see anything like this at a Browns or Raiders game.....

So an unassuming couple of Towson fans can't tell their story about getting abused in Harrisonburg? And to have the campus police tell them to basically go F themselves that they should expect to be treated as such?

xrolleyesx

I was obviously joking in this thread. Feel free to read my posts in the thread on the smack board to get my real take on it.

Probably because no one ever shows up for Browns or Raiders games.

It would appear that you have completely missed the sarcastic point made by GF. Had this happened at say a Temple game at the Linc (please spare the awful Temple-Pac10 comparisons), it would have made national headlines. Of course this stuff happens in Philly, but if you watched ESPN you would think it happens in no other city in America.

I know man, I didn't take any offense. Besides, you're a Towson and Redskin fan, you're allowed to lash out in frustration every now and then if you wanted to. xlolx

Going way back 1970's, was it during Dallas - Minnesota playoff game that a ref got knocked out by a empty fifth of some kind of booze after a controversial call ?

They will never make the Rose Bowl, their a sub par team whose only accomplishments as a team is spoiling it for other teams. That's all they will ever be.

No respect for the Arizona fans. Besides throwing stuff on the field, trying to rush the field early they held signs applauding the fact that they have injured past Oregon quarterbacks. Like it is cool to hurt a student athletes. Have fun in the toilet bowl Arizona.
P.S. My girl friend is fine now :)

You are correct. That was at Minnesota in 1975, the same game in which the "Hail Mary" pass from Roger Staubach to Drew Pearson (a fan threw an orange at Pearson when he reached the goal line). The referee was hit by a whiskey bottle during the Vikings' next possession.

Thanks, nice to no that not all of my memories are clouded xlolx
