If this has been posted previously I apologize? Coach Hatcher was fired abruptly after the Eagles defeated The Citadel. Coach Hatcher was actually fired by the President of the University providing the AD with the job of announceing the termination.

This firing is in retaliation for Coach Hatcher providing information concerning the academic requirements installed by The President of the University.

Another coach is fired and the administration remains teflon coated.

The only bright spot is the Triple Option may be coming back to Georgia Southern. Coaches under consideration is Jeff Monken, Brian Bohannon and Brad Barnard from the Georgia Tech staff. Former All-American player Giff Smith has announced that he is happy at Georgia Tech.

Hopefully, better things will be ahead in the future of Georgia Southern football. It has been a tough 4 years since the firing of Mike Sewak who is at Georgia Tech with Paul Johnson.

Sorry to hear that. For GSU's sake and the for the conf in general, I hope they can get some consistency. SoCon football is much, much better, when GSU and ( cough cough, hack , hack ) fu are playing better.

Seriously..... with GSU's recent record of firing 2 out of the last 3 head coaches, and the third quitting after just one season - why would a really good prospect "risk" coming to Statesboro?

No doubt we are like the old lady that used to look good that is trolling the bars.

Seriously, we are damaged goods but there are enough positives left that someone can turn it around if the new President (starting in January) is supportive.
