Glad to see Moats as the Defensive POY.

Surprised to see Thorpe as the Offensive ROY. Thought he came on strong late but the early season was pretty bad.

A lot of headscratchers for me. Steve Young is really one of the more dominant players in the CAA when he's playing, and he's not on this list. Devon Jackson? Hugo Souza? Those are probably three of UNH's better defenders. Weird.

No real arguments offensively. Thought perhaps J.T. Wright might make third team WR, but hard to quibble in general.

Since this was voted by the coaches, I'd bet the voting went 5-4-3.
Whitney, Archer, Ward.

The voting in done on a conference call and the coaches do it based on stats and who they have seen play in person. This makes for a somewhat difficult selection process between the north and south division coaches.

Frankly, I was shocked Whitney was 1st team and Szczur was Offensive and Special Teams POY. I thought Ward would have been 1st team QB and perhaps POY. He was one of the best players I saw all year.

There is not a lot of politicking actually, it happens so quickly on the call.

What most likely happened is that Ward and Archer split the Virginia vote.. Maybe Mickey had something to do with that. xsmiley_wix
