That was the worst job of organizing a football team that I have seen, perhaps ever, at that level. That was a chip shot field goal to win the game. Why wouldn't you have the FG team ready to go? A college team has 11-12 coaches on the sidelines. Someone couldn't have gotten the FG on the field in 25 seconds?

The other side of the story is that he was not telling the quarterback to clock to the ball. The other side of the story is that an Ole Miss player had come up with the ball after the play and Miles was indicating that the player was down before the ball came loose.

It's very possible that the coaching staff did not...at least intentionally...tell the QB to down the ball. Anyway, the big mistake was really not calling timeout immediately after the 3rd down play ended with 26 seconds left.

I don't think that it is. It's scratched and clawed and won some games when it's been on the short end of the statistics.
