This is 2 years in a row that we lose our top player due to an injury of some sort. Pendland has about 7-8 carries. Compared to his usual 20-25. Broken hand. Same thing happened when we lost to our NFL DE against a passing team in Eastern Washington a couple years ago.

I'll take the loss because god forbid I say anything but good game and move on.....

but UNH just isn't 35 points better than McNeese. You guys would understand if you were there at the game and saw some of the things we saw today with hesitant running backs and offensive play calls. The game was close until the INT TD and that did them in. McNeese knew it was over and you can see it with the players. You guys wasn't there to see that and that's what the announcers were talking about.

Good game and good luck, but I'm not happy with this 35 point difference. That paints a false picture on how this team has played all year.

Just got back from the game and will say that I am not disappointed that we lossed but disappointed how we lost. That pick 6 in the 3rd completly deflated the team and you see what happens. Before that happened McNeese was ahead stats wise except for the score (which is the most important) but we were still in the game. UNH came out of the half and made the adjustments necessary. We were completely out coached in this one. UNH's defense is really good. I am not overly impressed with the offense but the defense is good. And everyone knows defense wins championships. McNeese, I rooted for you all day, but the bad taste in my mouth that you left after visiting the SFA v. EWU thread made me come here and rub it in. Just think about your loss to us as you watch us play next week... when the Pokeyboys are in the gym...

I had the good fortune of being able to watch most of the second half of this game on McNeese's fantastic streaming video. What a great stadium and what a terrific atmosphere! OK, yeah, the call was a little homer, but it's supposed to be . . . I really loved how neither team had any idea what to expect form the other. Each had to rely simply on football instincts on the field. What a great game!

They actually have Sonics here in New Jersey SMC, so when you are driving down from NH you can visit. Northernmost is under construction on Airport Rd. in Allentown PA set to open early 2010.

Too bad this wasn't a night game so the tailgate spots would have been going strong cooking all day. Then, if you had the time, I could have fed you a lot better food in the tailgate area than you'd ever find at Sonic. Some good Cajun cooking such as jambalaya, gumbo, etc or maybe some roasted pig or other such food. Maybe, there will be a next time someday.

They did have more speed than UNH. But McNeese is developing a pattern of laying eggs in the first round. Think about it. McNeese beat Appalachian State at Boone during the regular season (and, yes, Armanti Edwards was playing effectively) and lost to SFA by three points on the road as well. They won the "statistical battle" with both of those teams. Both of those teams are in the final 8. But McNeese gets blown out by UNH.

When I say there is a pattern developing I harken back to the Eastern Washington blowout of #2 seeded McNeese in 2007. No way McNeese was that bad during the regular season. This time, I'm not saying that McNeese should've beaten UNH. In fact I picked UNH to win. But no way McNeese during the regular season was as bad as 13-49.

Why McNeese is developing this "post season" problem is a mystery to me. But it's there.

...I saw Corey Marceau graduating on senior day and I was like...really? He's been here 4 years and can't punt better than that? I had heard that J.T. Wright won the punting battle but the coaching staff was concerned with injuries and wanted him to focus on receiving.

As an aside, was anyone else SUPER impressed by Brusko yesterday? Great punts, caught everything, really looked like an asset for Maine. Can't believe he was their QB last year. Tough SOB.

Let me explain UNH's specialists:
Kicking: Tom Manning, AJ Delago...AJ will start next year. JT Wright could have gone to Wisconsin for kicking, but he has been punting with Ryan Glasgow and Corey Marceau. JT has also done some kickoffs I hear as well.

Punting:
Glasgow is a great punter just hasn't had a great season. Marceau was on that bubble after Bishop and before Ryan. Playing Ryan now gives him experience for the next season, where as it is unfortunate event for Marceau and Wright being seniors. It will be interesting to see how the next season goes for specialists with Manning gone and to see if Glasgow's season's experience was worth not trying Wright or Marceau
