59,418 was the announced attendance for the Florida Classic between FAMU and Bethune-Cookman. In contrast, 1,508 showed up in Macomb, IL for our game today :(

17,127 watched Sacramento State beat UC Davis 31-28 at Hornet Stadium with a big helping hand from the officials' blown call on a 1st down reception late in the game that stopped and Aggie drive late in the 4th quarter.

The call wasn't even close, Carter had both feet down well inside the sideline and never bobbled the ball on the most critical play of the game. Spectacular play. All the TV replays confirmed the catch but with no instant replay it was a moot point.

Looking at today's sizeable attendance figure, you'd think that UR will have to consider expanding the capacity of its partially-completed, on-campus football stadium. As of now, the completed stadium will only accommodate 8,700.

And how about the blown call when was Brandyn Reed was pushed out of bounds in the end zone and no PI was called. The calls went both ways, deal with it. If we would had had McCloud Bethel-Thompson in the whole game you would have lost by at least 4 tds. We scored 21 points on you in the 4th. You lost the game thanks to your crappy pass defense helped along by stupid penalties. I just hope that your stadium is expanded for next years game so all of us Hornet fans can attend. By the way congrats on your Great Western Football Conference Championship. We finished tied for 5th in the Big Sky Conference at 4-4 so that should answer any questions about why you are not ranked or given an autobid to the playoffs.

Actually I was amazed at how many Villanova fans showed. I think it was about 50/50. It used to feel like a home game for Delaware. CAA fan base seems to be growing. Not sure about Towson or RI.

I don't think they count student attendance (1200 or so) and other freebies (close to 1500). There were a ton of people not sitting down, and standing over in the west stands. They could have filled those empty seats in the west stands easy. I would say there was easily 20K there yesterday.

When traffic starts backing up on the expressway getting into the stadium, it's a huge crowd. :D

I heard there were about 2k students at the game. Not bad for a school with only 2.8k undergraduates and an off campus stadium. As stated they are not counted in the attendance figures.

Probably fewer city-wide comps than usual because it was such a big game. But I still think they gave a bunch away for the all-stadium team and half-time festivities.

At different points of the game I was in the press box, on both sides the field, and in the stands. It looked like it was at least 20k. There were a lot of fans standing above the visitor section seats. There were also a lot of people in the two tents by the field (Former football players & W&M tents) as well as several hundred on the field with special passes that were just fans, mostly former players.

I was very surprised the place was not overflowing with bodies. The weather could not have been more perfect. Shame on anyone that didn't show, because they missed one heck of a battle.

The stadium can actually hold about 20,000 with the seating on the grass horseshoe in the south endzone. They don't sell tickets for that area, but a lot of students prefer to sit down there, hence, the empty seats in the upper reaches of the eastern upper deck. For crowd control reasons, they limit tickets to 16,000, due to the history of some out-of-control crowds in games past. Additionally, I heard first hand that a good number of students were prevented from attending the game due to 'visible intoxication'....
