I think I speak for every Jackrabbit fan when I say that this Saturday's game against Western Illinois is one of the most important games we've been apart of. If we win, we are in the FCS playoffs for the first time, a remarkable result for only being in the division for 6 years now. Let's go and support our team, and get the job done! GO JACKS! :D

Without the move to DI and the vision of those who spearheaded the effort we'd be marred in transition now or a member of a 24 scholarship 16 team NSIC. SIU has a little bit different recent history than SDSU and therefore not quite worthy of the remarkable label.

If you recall conversations with Bison fans a few years ago they had no doubt they would be in the playoffs well before any of the other Dakota schools. Coyote fans and Sioux fans eagerly pointed out their playoff history near the end of DII and our absence of playoff history as a sure sign they would transition better. Well, if things proceed as they should we are in the DI football playoffs. Remarkable.

I wholeheartedly agree. We've only been D-I for 6 years, counting the transition period. It's amazing that this much progress has been made, and I'm very proud of them. Next years look good, too. The Jacks have put themselves on the map, and as you said, against anyone's expectations. Great accomplishment indeed.
