Well another MEAC season is almost in the books, South Carolina State has successfully defended its MEAC championship and has their spot booked in the playoffs that begin next weekend. The Bulldogs are looking to continue their 18-game conference winning streak and their second consecutive season of being unbeaten in conference play against the dangerous Aggies of North Carolina A&T, who some say are a year away from contending in the MEAC. The rising Norfolk State Spartans are looking to build their program up with two successful seasons in three years as they face the Rams of Winston Salem State at home. Hampton hosts Morgan State in a battle of two disappointed teams with Hampton being a traditional power and Morgan starting out winning five of their first six and is currently on a four game losing streak. Delaware State hosts Howard in the battle for last-place in the conference. DSU has fallen a long way from its 2007 championship season. On a personal note...I think that Lavan has one more year xsmhx

MEAC Game of the Week: FAMU vs BCU (The Florida Classic)
Is there another more obvious choice? Not to mention the fact that the annual matchup between Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman in Orlando is easily the marquee and highest attended game in the MEAC every year, and that its also a rivalry game, but over the last few weeks this game transformed from a potential footnote of FAMU's championship season to something potentially even larger. The Wildcats of BCU have something to play for, a winning season. Yes the same Wildcats that dropped its opening game to Shaw (D-II) is now sitting at 5-5 and Coach Alvin Wyatt, who some speculated as being on the hot seat earlier this year, has taken this very young group of freshmen and sophomore players and engineered an amazing midseason turn around. Winners of 5 of their last 6 games, BCU is looking to continue that momentum against a decimated FAMU squad thats coming off the Hampton game where the Pirates shutout the Rattlers 25-0. The disappointing outcome to the season, (which cost a playoff spot, bragging rights, and a conference fan site xwhistlex ), the Rattlers are looking to regroup and refocus leading into next season. Oh and did I mention that this is the FLORIDA CLASSIC???
