Every year I root for controversy in the BCS. Here is what I hope happens this year.
Florida & Alabama meet in the SEC championship and one of them wins by a single point as time expires.
Texas is defeated in the Big XII championship.
Florida & Alabama are paired in the National Championship. The team that lost the SEC championship wins the National Championship.
TCU does not lose another game this year (including bowl game).
Cincinnati does not lose another game this year (including bowl game).
Boise State does not lose another game this year (including bowl game).
I do not believe that TCU, Cincinnati or Boise State are better than either Florida or Alabama but it will stir the BCS controversy pot. Someday, there will be a FBS playoff.

The Florida/Bama scenario sort of reminds me of back in 2003, when #1 Oklahoma lost the Big 12 championship to (I think) #7 K-State by a big margin, but Oklahoma only got bumped down one spot to #2. So we had BCS #1 LSU and BCS #2 Oklahoma in the title game (both with 1-loss) but BCS #3 USC also had 1-loss, but USC was actually ranked #1 in both the AP and USAToday polls.
Talk about parity.

Florida and Alabama just won't happen in the NC, the voters won't let it. I do think the voters would give TCU/Cincy a shot if Texas loses in the next few weeks.
(I honestly don't think Texas or the Big 12 is as good as last year)

Wasn't their a rule change that prevents two teams from the same conference from playing in the "NC"

See the Michigan/Ohio St drama from just a few years ago. I believe the previous poster is correct that you have to win your league to play in the NC game.

Looking at the actual BCS numbers (not just the rankings) and it's almost a done deal right now.
A 1 loss Alabama or Florida team will likely still be above Cincy and Boise St. TCU is in a good spot though.
But the winner of Florida vs Alabama will be the #1 team. TCU would have to pray for a Texas loss for the #2. A dominating win by Florida or Alabama would help too.

I predict this will be the first year that a non-AQ conference team finally gets a shot at the national championship.
It will be TCU vs the winner of Florida/Alabama. Texas will lose to Kansas, Texas A&M or Nebraska and TCU will win out. It will be the BCS's nod to the Mountain West who will get an automatic birth to BCS once they take in Boise, Fresno and another Texas team (Houston or SMU).
Additionally, the BCS will expand to include the Cotton bowl. Automatic tie-ins will be: Pac10/BigTen - Rose, MWC - Fiesta, BigXII - Cotton, SEC - Sugar, ACC/Big East - Orange

I read an article, can't remember where, about how Boise State can't get any major schools to play them. They've offered to play anyone, anywhere, for free, and no takers. FBS bigwigs criticize their schedule when it comes to bowl bids, but then nobody will play them. Most sports writers consider it collusive that major conferences agree to keep schools like Boise out of the BCS because they can simply choose not to play them.

It was Boise St but it was anywhere against a BCS team for a $1 million.

I'm with you. I'm really hoping one of those three can somehow squeeze their way into the NC game...

TCU and Boise would both destroy Alabama. Florida would give them a good game.

Is this in the works, or are you hypothesizing? xeyebrowx

In my perfect world Cincinnati wins out the regular season and Texas, Alabama, and UF all lose once. UC would be the only unbeaten BCS team and keeping them out of the title game would be very controversial. TCU and BSU aren't part of the "club" so I can't really see them making any sort of case for a BCS title.
In my perfect, perfect world, Iowa and UC would have stayed unbeaten and Tex, Ala, and UF would have all lost once.
