Before the third largest crowd in Stabler Arena history, Lehigh rode the 'spark' of Seth Ciasulli's pin at 141 to knock off the Nittany Lions, 23-14 in front of 5,280 .
Lehigh took 6 of 10 bouts with Penn State winning only the four weights where they had Top Ten wrestlers. Lehigh took all the 'toss up' weights, plus held serve in those weights where favored. Actually more than held serve with Ciasulli's pin and Fisk's major decision at 133. Robert Hamlin at 174 also turned in a major decision as he is showing himself to be the real deal as a redshirt freshman. David Craig (184), Joe Kennedy (197) and Zack Rey (Hwt) all posted solid wins.
The match was the debut for Penn State's new Head Coach Cael Sanderson. The greatest collegiate wrestler in US history, after dumping his alma mater, Iowa State, to take a lucrative deal to try and take PSU 'to the next level'. After tonight, Lehigh should jump into the top 15.
No rest for the weary, though as the Mountain Hawks take on Pitt Sunday afternoon at Grace Hall, followed by a visit to #3 Ohio State next Friday night, and #12 Michigan the following Sunday.
