I might go to the Binghamton-Stony Brook game next Tuesday night. Former Temple star Mark Macon is the HC of the Bearcats. He's had a tall task this year and has done a good job keeping BU competitive. They beat La Salle this past weekend.
Binghamton is less than an hour away and if the weather is decent i'd like to go up. I heard their new arena is really nice plus i'm pulling for Macon to right the ship.
He seems to be doing the right things. They will be a scary team this season ,which is good for the conference and the Bearcats.

Pards kicked around Holy Cross, 84-74 at KSC in Easton yesterday. Nice to see a win against the Crusaders. HC seems like a much different team with the new coach. They looked slow on defense and they didn't play transitions anywhere near as well as they used to.
Up to Hamilton for Colgate next . . . .
n.b. - KSC rocks with the best of them with a crowd (i.e. Lehigh and top 30 opponents). It's a fabulous place to watch a game but it still looks crappy on TV. I think it's the big cheesy curtain and the stupid Perogie stand behind the basket. We should put a few rows of temporary bleachers on the west end of KSC instead.

That was a great win for the 'pards. HC aint what it was, but was still considered to have some players. Should be a big confidence booster for a program that has floundered of late. Kirby just needs some chairbacks. Those benches are a real pain the ass. I always viewed "the curtain" as a home court advantage for LC as I think it effects the players perspective of the basket when shooting at that end.

Colgate beat American 75-74 in 2OT this afternoon in Hamilton
This was how the Raiders forced the 2nd Overtime session:
Trailing 66-60 with 25 seconds left in the first overtime, senior guard Kyle Roemer (Martinez, Calif.) hit a three-pointer to bring Colgate within three. The Raiders made multiple attempts for a steal, but were forced to foul Moldoveanu with nine seconds remaining. Moldoveanu hit both free throws to put American up by five. Freshman point guard Mitch Rolls (Coffeyville, Kan.) then made a desperation three-pointer from the top of the key, making the score 68-66 in American’s favor. Sophomore forward Yaw Gyawu (Lilburn, Ga.) then made the defensive play of the game by stealing the inbounds pass and knocking it off an American player out-of bounds with four-tenths of a second left. Rolls and Jonson then executed a perfect play, as the freshman in-bounded the ball to Jonson for a baseline jumper for the tie.
Colgate is 8-16 on the year, 4-6 in the PL

Lafayette beat PL foe Army by twenty-six points last night at West Point, 80 - 54. Should the Pards get past American in the nationally-televised finale this weekend, a mere Holy Cross win over Lehigh will seal the regular title for the Leopards, along with an automatic NIT slot and home court throughout the Patriot League playoffs.
I am fully aware that the Lehigh people have published a contrary result in the Brown and White, which is already bundled for distribution. xcoolx If this comes down to Lafayette vs. Lehigh for a ticket to the Big Dance, it will be fun times for all up in the Lafayette Valley. xprost2x

Kirby was kickin' A for that game against Lehigh last week - great place for the game! You can borrow my official Lafayette College chair-back seat cushion. I won't need it because I will be on my feet the whole time screaming for Good Guys to win.
I wouldn't trade Kirby's hard-wood-and-spilled-beer ambiance for, say, Colgate's faux-lux seatbacks for anything. Besides, people actually attend our games - more so even than at UnStable Arena. xwhistlex
Yep - with due deference to Bucknell and Holy Cross, I want a Lafayette - Lehigh basketball final, the way it should be!
