Alright...just got back from the game. Here's what I saw.

UCA offense...zero on the pass game. I know now why our run game has been so succesful, our coach has zero confidence in our QB's passing ability. We are either run or punt. When our RB Brent Grimes does the best pass of the game...enough said. Run game. Solid, but obviously not enough to carry us. We were severly one dimensional. I will however give props to our RB Brent Grimes because he had:

164 yards rushing
43 yards passing
53 yards receiving

That's phenomenal!

Defense: Um...a 3 man front gave George all night to throw or even run. Tackling was nonexistent. Pass coverage was horrible.

But most of all...the freakin penalties!

10 for 82! When did they happen? When the least needed to! Up by four and you do a stupid personal foul on the extra point. Then you horsecollar! 30 freakin free yards on a drive where you needed to keep the Bobcats back! This kind of crap has happened all year! Against Hawaii, our Olineman jumps offsides and sets us up for 3rd and long instead of 3rd and 2. Anyway......

Great game Cats. Your Oline is huge and I just don't understand the 3 man fronts we played against that!

The conference season is over for the Bears All that's left is playing time for the backups IMO. I'm a little pixxed but I'll get over it by morning! xmadx

Oh. I just started watching on the internet right before UCA scored the the go ahead TD. Only saw one defensive series by UCA and that was the last one. I thought they just played that three man front on that last drive...playing "prevent" defense. But they were playing that all game? I really have to wonder about that. Of course I guess it must've worked OK because Texas State only had 21 points until that last score.

Both defenses looked gassed at the end of the game. This was just a game where whatever offense had the ball last with a little time left was going to win.

We had no answer for Grimes, we have no depth on the D-line, they get tired and huge holes open up. Not that Grimes wouldn't have had a huge game with less blocking but your O-line did a very good job run blocking.

Just wanted to compliment the game he had, perfect pass on the trick play also.

On the last drive dont forget that TXST got a holding call on a 10-15 yard run by Bradley George. It was a 20-25 yard change in field position. It damn near cost us that game, but we eventually made a play on 4th down to keep the chains moving.

Guess you really haven't heard much about UCA. We're not playoff eligible until 2010. I believe most people on this board knew that. NCAA transition sucks and we didn't make the rules, they did. Last year's team might have done well in the playoffs (or might not have), but we'll never know. . As for the playoff prognostication, Montana seems to be the usual first stop for SLC teams. I believe that is the doom for most SLC teams in the past. As for us, who knows.

Let's just let the future take care of itself..for now. xlolx
