I'm guessing most of you remember it for my unflattering comparison to the CAA, but I digress. Looks like I'm not the only person saying the SEC is overrated:

SEC may be overhyped and talked about too much. But, it's the best football conference. No doubt about it. It's NOT overrated.

You still fighting this battle? Until someone knocks them off when it counts that statement is moot.

I would agree with nearly all of the statements made in that article. It would be ridiculous to say that the SEC is not the best conference in college football in almost every year (including this season, however, it is also ridiculous to think that the SEC is head and shoulders above every conference every single year. Last year the Big XII wasn't that far behind, one could argue that the PAC-10 is fairly comparable to the SEC this season. Basically this whole argument is just all about tons of fans over-reacting and spouting off hyperbole, SEC fans getting upset when someone suggests that they aren't 10 times better than everyone else (which they aren't) and then other conferences (notably the PAC-10) getting upset when people say the SEC is better than they are (which they are).

The SEC is very overrated. Alabama has the biggest joke of a schedule I've ever seen. Florida is the only elite team from the SEC. Bama and LSU are good. The rest of the conference is trash.
