On Saturday, Nov. 21, the Florida State University football team will take the field wearing (http://www.seminoles.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/110509aac.html) the Nike Pro Combat uniform, a new system of dress and the lightest football uniform Nike has ever created.

anything to help them win i guess.

I'm sure that now the D-Ring is made of titanium instead of steel (which makes it 66% lighter!) will result in the return to glory for Florida State.

I dont like the design the material is interesting.

Overall its very Oregon-esqe with FSU's colors

I'm with 89Hen (mark your calendars!) -- they're pretty cool. Ranks up there with the Camouflage unis they made for Army last year.

Which, by the way, Army should wear for every game.

I think the unis look good. The real question will be if the features are worthwhile or just marketing fluff.

I agree. I actually really like these. The black helmet looks a lot better then I would have imagined.

But they're not the only team that will be wearing special unis from Nike that day. Ohio State, Texas Virginia Tech and TCU are also definites to wear special unis. Texas's unis are a complete throwback look while OSU's are meant to be throwbacks, but fail. TCU released a pic of the helmet today but I haven't been able to see it due to Internet blockers here at work.

Also, here's a t-shirt they're selling at TCU right now that shows the suppossed helmet they're going to be wearing with this Nike "Combat" promotion against Utah in a few weeks. The red helmet stripes are meant to symbolize the horned frog's ability to squirt blood from its eyes:

It seems like Texas has worn those a few times recently.

I really like the Ohio State ones (minus the spider web or whatever on the shoulders).

I like the Texas ones. But they remind me of some football pajamas I had when I was a little crumb snatcher. haha

Ohio States are ok.

Florida State's = Badass
Ohio State's = Alright
Texas' = It's ok, but I too feel like I've seen them use those before.

They are throwback Uni's. So they have worn a similar design, but they havent worn this particular uniform with the new fabric and all that.
