Ovie Injury

OK, so Alex Ovechkin gets injured this weekend with an "upper body injury". He was listed as day to day, now he's be downgraded to week to week. My question is, why is it a big secret what his injury is? If he's out, he's out. Telling everyone he has a dislocated shoulder, hyperextended elbow, broken arm... how does that give another team an advantage? xconfusedx

Every hockey team does that. When anyone on the Hawks gets injured it is either upper body or lower body and they don't say anything else.

Because if your opponent know what is wrong with you, they can focus their contact to that injured area.

If he's out, he's out. By the time the player comes back, it's known what the injury was. It's only for the first week or so that they don't announce it.

This is more applicable in the playoffs. But you're right, people generally know anyways.

Im not acting like it is a wildly popular sport...but it is far from a dumb sport. It has the most action and excitement and unlike baseball it doesn't take half your day to watch it. I get that not everyone likes it but it still deserves a fair shake.

Andy can't skate. He was a bully in HS and went with a bunch of kids to the ice rink one day and the little kid he used to pick on skated circles around him and made him look foolish.

For the record I CAN skate and used to play hockey with the enighborhood kids in the winter on the frozen lake behind our houses in NJ.
