Oh sorry I mean the FCS.
I am just thankful, no matter how skewed it is in the placements that the FCS has a playoff system to a national champion.
I would hate to be TCU or Boise State right now. The very real possibility to run the table and be undefeated but never get invited to the big dance because you are not in an "elite" conference.
Personally I would like to see every FCS conference get on AQ and then the rest of the bracket for the playoffs are taken directly from a combined (or already pre-voted on before the season) ranking to round out the top 16 teams or top 20 or top 24 teams.
Not based on how much money the school could bring in to the NCAA but based upon ranking.

Yeah it does, but BSU and TCU are both in good positions to make a haul, after all you get $17 million just to play in the BCS bowls.

Well I guess you should look at it this way. If they both win out both will be pretty much guaranteed to to get into a BCS bowl. If either loses a game they don't really belong in a BCS bowl in the first place.
I won't feel to bad for them unless they go undefeated and dont get into a BCS bowl, and that situation wont happen.

Terrible to be Boise State right now. Oregon is poised to leap over them after the win over USC. Funny how the big boys say the WAC and Mountain West need to schedule the BCS, yet when they little guys win, the big boys have the right to say "Well, that didn't count, and you still need to schedule us."
After all, Oregon is the better team, even if they can't beat Boise State.xoopsxxnonox

It's true.... imagine being a team with a perfect record but not getting invited to a BCS bowl that features a match-up between three loss teams that AQ'ed from weak conferences.

Exactly. 1 loss UH was ranked behind 1 loss OSU despite having beat them earlier in the season. UH had wins over three BCS conference teams and got dropped out of the polls after one loss while teams with two losses were ranked well above them.

This isn't very likely to happen anymore as they changed the rules for this. If a team goes undefeated, wins their conference and said conference doesn't have an automatic berth and an automatic qualifier has 3 loses as you stated. It is pretty likely that the Undefeated team will have a higher BCS ranking than the AutoQ. Because their BCS ranking is higher than the auto Qualifier they would take that autobids place.
The Rule:
If Such team is ranked in the top 16 of the final BCS Standings and its ranking in the final BCS Standings is higher than that of a champion of a conference that has an annual automatic berth in one of the BCS bowls they will earn an automatic berth.

But that only works for one undefeated team from a non-auto conference. If Boise State and TCU both finish undefeated, there is a very good possibility one of them could get left out in the cold. Remember, it happened last year to Boise State (who then lost to TCU in the Poinsettia Bowl) when Utah was selected to go to the Sugar Bowl against Alabama.

so.........you take a check to go to your corner and keep yer mouth shut?
Is any amount of money worth accepting being treated like 2nd class, not even being allowed to play for a championship?
For me it isn't.
