The CAA Today: Fourth Quarter Football

In a close contest, head coaches want to shorten the game in the fourth quarter. When playing from ahead, teams tend to want to run the ball and eat up some clock, and keep the ball away from their opponents. When playing from behind, you’re conscious of field position, weather, and the clock. You have to manage time and your time outs wisely if you’re seeking to come from behind to win a game.

In the Northeast, the weather is always cold and raw come November. During these inclement weather conditions, it’s always a good idea to play “Smash Mouth”, physical, grind it out football. In most cases, this brand of football will win you championships regardless of the weather.

Just last week, while it wasn’t terribly cold, the CAA did have a little rain to contend with. I’ll discuss how those teams fared.
