I was over on my schools message board as we were discussing our game against Presbyterian this weekend and I did a little extra special research and came across some real nuggets for LU:
Liberty beat Central Florida October 31, 1992 31-28. As a side note, LU has never won on Halloween on the road. They lost to Elon in 1998 36-14 and lost to Western Illinois (who was actually ranked at the time) 24-14 in 1987. LU last played at home on Halloween in 1992, beating Central Florida 31-28.
Liberty has never allowed 30 or more points in back to back Big South Conference games since Danny Rocco became head coach. In fact the last time LU gave up 30 or more points in consecutive Big South Conference games (win or lose) was 2004.
Liberty has won at home by fewer than 20 points only three times since Danny Rocco became head coach (2006 vs Charleston Southern, 2007 vs Coastal Carolina, 2008 vs Glenville State).
Here are the average home margins of victory over the last three seasons:
2006: 14.3 points
2007: 31.5 points
2008: 29.0 points
The average through 4 home games this year is 26.8 points (26.75 to be exact 3-1 record)
Also, LU , in games the week after road games where the final margin is 7 points or less (win or lose) under Danny Rocco: 6-1 (including the last 4 in a row). In the 6 wins they have outscored those opponents 201-64.
What kind of stat nuggets you guys got for your schools going into this weekend?

Geworgetown has one rushing touchdown this season.
And two passing.
Ouch. Mike Brown (from Liberty) alone has more rushing and passing touchdowns than you guys.

Delaware has outscored its opponents 63-12 in the 3rd quarter this year, yet has been outscored 32-72 in the 4th. Talk about misleading stats, fortunately a bunch of late TDs happened when the game was in hand with starters out.

JMU hasn't won at Delaware since 1994 (six straight home wins for UD) and the home team has won the last six games in the series.
Delaware is 29-3 vs CAA/A10/Yankee opponents on Homecoming.

The Appalachian State Mountaineers are xeekx SPOOKTACULAR xeekx performers on Halloween.
App is 8-2 all time when playing on October 31st.
The Tricks (2 losses):
The 2 losses were both to former SoCon football rival ETSU. In 1953 they beat App by 2 points, and in 1970, App lost by 2 points.
The Treats (8 Wins):
When App wins on Halloween, it's a complete and total zombification of the opponent.
The 8 wins are by a combined score of 290 to 53.
The average margin of victory is 30 points.
On Offense, the Mountaineers score an average of 36 points on Halloween.
The lowest scored by ASU was 10 in 1964, against Wofford (who was held scoreless).
The most scored was (wait for it.....) 70 in 2008 against Wofford.
On Defense, the Apps have allowed an average of 7 points.
4 of the wins were shut-outs.
The most points allowed was last year against Wofford, when the Apps gave up 24 to the T-Dogs.
Happy Halloween to the FCS Nation! If you are dressing up as a Furple Paladin this year, better strap on the armor-- the Black and Gold Pumpkin Express is rolling into town!

Elon is 1-2 against Miami FL.

Should the Spiders take care of business on Saturday they will set the record for most consecutive wins by a D-1 college football team in the Commonwealth of Virgina, currently tied at 16 with VMI from 1919. Helps to put in perspective how difficult it is to string together this many wins. (Hope I didn't just jinx my Spiders!)

The last time the Griz lost in the regular season at home to a conference foe was in 2005 against Eastern Washington.

Portland State owns a three game winning streak over Eastern Washington heading in to this weekend's game in Seattle, having beaten them twice in Portland and once in Cheney.
Also, there have been a total of seven field goals made from 50+ yards in the history of Portland State football. Two of them have been this year from freshman Zach Brown, who had scholarship offers to kick elsewhere, yet came to Portland State as a wide receiver (he didn't want to kick in college).

SCSU has a MEAC all-time leading 12 Football Championships with a possible 13th on deck in 2009... xcoffeex
That would be 13 out of a total of 39 possible MEAC Champions in the Conferences 39 years of Football Competition, if the 2009 SCSU Bulldogs handle their business... xnodx
Please note, all of SCSU Championships were won without any NCAA infractions due to ineligible players and/or a lack of instituitional control or other problems that may have lead to a "loss of league titles" won, due to non-compliance with NCAA standards for fair collegiate competition... xthumbsupx

OK I DONT know what the stat is so somebody else for App is gonna have to look it up for me...
But I would imagine we are getting beat in the first quarter by like
62-21 "Points scored for the first quarter"
Somebody for App look that up... I just guessed... just know we get hammered in the first quarter!

Hofstra's offense has turned the ball over 18 times and QB Cory Christopher is the proud owner of 12 (6 Int. and 6 fumbles lost). In addition to the 6 lost fumbles, he has 4 additional fumbles that we managed to retain possession.
