JMU and Appalachian State have been in talks about finalizing a series deal where the Mountaineers would come to Harrisonburg in 2006 and the Dukes would go to Boone in a later year. It would be the teams' first matchup since the 1995 playoffs. I am psyched about this probable matchup that in my opinion will be the 2006 I-AA regular season game of the year. Congrats on your national championship Appalachian State Mountaineers! The 2004 national champion JMU Dukes will also be playing the 2003 national champion Delaware Blue Hens in 2006 on November 4 in Harrisonburg.

Nice!

Glad to see some really good OOC games on the I-AA docket!

2006 Game of the year? A good game, no doubt, but I don't think it will even be App State's game of the year (matchups against Furman and Georgia Southern come to mind...)

Maybe if you'd made the playoffs this year....

I guarantee that JMU will surprise people once again and shut up all the naysayers. Please underestimate the Dukes all you want as that is when JMU plays best! The early game against Appalachian State should be a great measuring stick.

A great game, but game of the year? I don't know about that.

We'll have to see...Furman gets a new QB and of course the game is in Boone, GSU gets a new coach but we travel to GSU. I'd say JMU and GSU scare me more at this point but all three games will be great.

Should be a really good game. We will know more after the signings are complete. Can't wait for 2006!

we should be able to clean up house recruit wise............ lots of players in the region that are unsure of playing time at 1-A schools will likely go for wins and titles at ASU. GSU scares me next year. JMU will be happy to throw the bullseye on our teams backs. Looks like it will be a tough year ahead.

Considering how well I expect JMU to do, and with App State certain to be good again, this game should be a barn burner. I hope it's true!
