So Ethier, you hit a solo shot?

No prob. Werth hits a 3-run shot! xlolx

Padilla's flotilla is taking on water.

Hamels didn't look exactly water proof in the first.

It's certainly not a pitcher's duel so far.

The flotilla is now listing. 4-2 Phils.

And the Dodgers bullpen is up in the second inning. Again.

Big K by Hamels. Ethier really worked the count on both at-bats so far.

Onward to The House That Steinbrenner Built!

(then again, the Yanks have been known to give up 3-1 leads in the ALCS)

I was down there last night. Absolutely great. Was nice to see them do the presentation out on the field so the "Tenth Man" could take part. No question the Phillies have developed a real 'home field advantage' with the way the crowd gets into it. I wouldn't be surprised to see Chollie pitch Lee and Martinez in NY to open up. Lee for obvious reasons, but Pedro on the 'big stage' just as in LA-LA Land will be lights out in Yankee Stadium.xnodx

The only problem about pitching Pedro up there is that you'd be throwing a rightie in that park with that incredibly short fence in RF. I think you may still see Lee and Hamels go in Games 1 and 2 and then see Pedro in Game 3 or 4.

But you have to admit, the theater of having Pedro on the mound in New York with the "Who's Your Daddy?" chants would be spectacular. :D

Which is why I don't think Pedro will pitch game 2 - the Yankees are the one team that seems to have his number in the playoffs and no need for the Who's Your Daddy chants. Since weather isn't going to be a factor, you just let Pedro dominate in the friendly confines of CBP. We now know that no matter where Cole pitches we don't know what to expect, so just keep him in the normal rotation spot.

The thing is, it's not like these Yankees have this Pedro's number. That was 5 years ago - other than Jeter and ARod, is there anyone left on the Yankees in the lineup from that team? And Pedro, IMO, is a better pitcher right now than he was back then. Sure he's older, but the fact that he hasn't had to pitch a lot this year means he's got everything left in the tank and he just needs to pitch one more start. There are dead spots in the Yankees lineup, and you're seeing some of it now during the playoffs - guys like ARod are legitimately on fire, but there are guys you can and should expect Pedro to get outs from repeatedly. I'd be worried about that real short porch in RF (although the last time the Phils played there Texieria hit a shattered bat HR well into the seats in LF so there's easy home runs aplenty in that park). To be honest, I think Pedro would feed off of that crowd and the moment if he got to pitch Game 2. I'm sure the Who's Your Daddy chants would be aplenty in the 1st inning, but once the Phils get the lead (and if they see Burnett in that game they will have the lead) and Pedro starts setting people down, you wouldn't hear those chants much longer.
