Injuries are happening so fast for Wofford that players are being carted out two-by-two.
Junior safety Hunter Hobson hitched a ride with sophomore halfback Derek Boyce on the back of a vehicle headed to the training room Saturday against Appalachian State. They had matching ACL damage in their knees. Both are out for the rest of the season, head coach Mike Ayers said Monday.
If you’re keeping track at home, fans, that’s six with the same injury.
Senior halfback Jeremy Marshall, the leading rusher among returning running backs this year, was first. That happened in preseason. Then it was sophomore sensations fullback Eric Breitenstein and linebacker Mike Niam, two of the most important players on either side of the ball, who went down with torn ACLs. Emerging second-year freshman linebacker Ricco Braxton was also hit, as was true freshman tight end Kenny Barnes. xconfusedxxsmhx
