I'm playing the Pigskin Pick-Em contest (straight pick, not spread) on ESPN and I've picked against the Broncos every week...and I have failed every week. Oh well...still in the 98.9% percentile....Broncos are screwing me up.

On a more serious note....how surprised is everyone here to see the Broncos under first-year coach McDaniels at 6-0 right now? I know many experts were predicting them to go 3-13 or 4-12, but the Broncos have proven that the experts can't know everything about football. Also, that defense that was supposedly going to be their crutch this season is instead one of the most ferocious in the NFL (with help from great additions such as Brian Dawkins). So yeah...how does everyone feel about the Broncos now?

I figured 11-5 was a possible season. A friend on GLB actually laughed when I suggested the Broncos were the team to beat in the AFC West back in July....

I am shocked at how good they are...it really pisses me off. I have grown to dislike McDaniels and I hope this team stumbles down the stretch. With that said...they made the right move in regards to their QB situation...they got rid of the flash and brought in the grinder who knows how to win. Things couldn't be any better for this organization going into their bye week. I can say I am jealous at how well they have done...second biggest shocker of the season.

What's so annoying about him? He's a good coach.

I thought he was being a control freak in the offseason, trying to make the players bend to him and such but his win over the Pats won me over. One, he made the right choice in dumping Cutler so that everyone knew that, no matter how good you are as an individual, the team comes first. Second, he is using Orton well -- Kyle will never be a HOFer but he is still a good quarterback who knows how to find a win. Third, he dropped the hammer on Marshall for bad behavior but gives him props when he comes through for the team. Finally, I like how he wasn't afraid to share a good win with his players and his fans.

He came off in the beginning like Mangini, part 2 but I think he'll be alright.

I heard something along the lines that Kyle Orton is 17-2 as a starter at home. Who would have ever associated that kind of record with Orton? Certainly not I...
