If I were a Colgate fan, I might be pissed too. However, do you really think Colgate could beat Madison?

UD is #28 in the coaches poll. Poor Towson, Keeler may not tell Devlin to let off the gas.

JMU's three losses are to a FBS school, in Overtime; a home loss to the #1 team in all polls; and at Hofstra. Yes, they're losses, but they're losses to FBS (albeit not a great one), a reigning national champ (who came from behind late to beat them)... and, OK, Hofstra. But you look at Colgate's wins, you won't find any team from any of the polls on that list, and the teams they have beaten - like Princeton in OT - don't appear to be top 25 caliber teams.

I'm pulling for Colgate - have a friend who played there on their runner-up squad, so I have to be a fan. But think they're a bit of an unknown as far as how good they are, and it's probably difficult for most voters to have a good feel for the team.

JMU would be favored if they played @ Colgate. Their schedule shows nothing.

I think it's interesting that all three polls have McNeese ranked ahead of SFA when SFA has a better record (4-1 to 3-2) and just beat the Cowboys head to head. I mean, I do think McNeese is better. I think it was one of those games where the teams were fairly close in caliber, the somewhat weaker one had a shot to win if the somewhat better one made enough mistakes, and the somewhat better one made enough mistakes. But it's still, I think, unusual to see a situation like this one with the team that just lost higher in the polls. Of course the power ratings, which only "look" at scores and/or Won/Lost, have it the other way around with SFA being ranked higher.

Why are my McNeese Cowboys at number 11? We're way too high, IMHO...

Because people know they'd be undefeated WITHOUT THE EXCESSIVE PENALTIES?!????

Just kidding. I guess it's a sign of respect for the history of the program. The power ratings, I think, tend to have them more along the lines of where they belong right now. The average of polls and ratings at http://www.mratings.com/cf/compare1aa.htm has them at 28 and I think that's reasonable. And, really, a propensity for committing penalties is part of what a team is. BUT, at least it's something correctable so we know they can be significantly better than they've been over the past two games.

That's what the "BCSers" say about the BCS busters. I really think TCU would skull-****** quite a few ranked ahead of them, or at a minimum give them the "business." Granted, I was elated watching a disrespected BYU skull-****** an over-hyped OU squad @ Cowboys stadium. :D

Senseless huh?

Kudos to UNH and UNI posters for not jumping all over UMs ranking ahead of them. It's all just a guess, and might turn out to be deserved, but the records so far has me wondering what the coaches were thinking. WCB??

They're not in mine ballot. I think the reason I single out EIU is AFAIK they haven't been in any other poll and have lost the last two weeks. Not sure why they are entering any polls. xpeacex

Well add them to the list.

My thing is there are several ranked team without a big win. Add us, App St, and some others I'm sure. You can only beat the teams you play and when two good teams play only one wins.

IMO, the top three should be Richmond, UNH, and Montana. They are the top undefeated teams in FCS right now.
I know Colgate is 6-0, but their SOS is softer than the others.

Why does everyone think that UNI is a monster team? The records of the teams they have played is 14 wins and 22 losses. UNI's wins look impressive, but look who they have played. Keep it real folks.

As one other poster stated no one is invincible.

Time and games will tell all by the end of the regular reason, so don't sweat it and enjoy the season while it is hear.:D

Do not HATE just APPRECIATE:)
Peace:

Cocky, Richmond won at JMU 21-17. They are 5-0 for the year.

Is it just me, or does this poll get more absurd by the week? Aren't polls supposed to make more sense as more games are played? This one just gets sillier by the week.
