Word is that SLU will have quite the crowd...

Hearing that tailgating spot reservation is going well and there will be a very limited amount of walk-up tickets. The win over TXST is helping this effort, but it is also is Homecoming weekend.

The Southeastern Channel is broadcasting the game. Not confirmed whether or not it will show at the above link.

Unless there's been a change I didn't hear about, it will be a tape delayed cablecast...at least that's the way it's always been. If it were live, you could watch it on the live streaming link on the Southeastern Channel website...but I don't think it is.

So, I guess it will be showed at that above link at a later date, is what you are saying?

That would be correct...first airings are typically on the following Thursday, Friday morning, Saturday morning, and Sunday afternoon. Eventually it will be made available On-Demand on the Classic Lions under the Programs/Athletics menu.

La. pundits pick SLU over SHSU...

II. Best game no one saw last week? Southeastern’s improbable 24-point fourth-quarter rally to force overtime and win 51-50 over Texas State. The Lions are back home this week against Sam Houston State. Momentum or letdown? I’m going with ol’ mo. SLU by 7.

Sam Houston State at Southeastern La. (no line, 6 p.m.) – The Lions pulled off a shocker last week against preseason Southland favorite Texas State. Now they get a SHSU team that pummeled Nicholls last weekend. Can the Lions do it again? This week’s upset pick … Southeastern 31-27.

No disrespect to Lenny and Dan, but I doubt either have ever seen a Southeastern game, much less Sam Houston. They might as well flip coins.

I am sure Dan has seen the Ragin' Cajuns lose to SHSU before! In football and probably some other sports... xnodx

As far as Lenny, you are probably right. He did not have too far to walk if he wanted to an all exclusive breakdown of the game.

Post-game thoughts...

Strawberry Stadium's upgrades are great. For a few of those affiliated with SHSU, it was our first time since the renovations were complete and all were in agreement about the renovations.

Had a great time at the game last night...it was good seeing some old friends.

What none of those on KatFans.com mentioned outside of when Blake Joseph went out for awhile in place of Randolph was that BJ had not really practiced all week, if at all. Just looked completely out of place and going in, I told our SLU friends that if he was not near 100%, this game was not going to go our way.

For the most part, we still hung in there. The differences at the end of the day outside of the Joseph situation were that SLU had two very spectacular catches and I think both came on third and long. Also, with SHSU still within reach, there was an offensive series where our receivers dropped three consecutive passes. One of the attempts was to Armstead who had burned two SLU corners for some separation.

Early in the game, too many penalties. Both teams had personal foul calls - two apiece - halfway through the first quarter!

“It was horrible,” Sam Houston head coach Todd Whitten said. “From an offensive standpoint, we played as poorly as you can play. We were nonexistent. We made a few plays, but we jumped offsides, had a holding call bring a touchdown back, had a personal foul and a fumbled snap.

“I think we dropped eight balls and threw three interceptions. It doesn’t get any worse than that.

“It’s my fault. I didn’t have those guys ready to play. We weren’t focused.”
