Anyone else having a problem with the UD stream? I keep getting "network problems."

Recap: UMass received and returned the KO to the 40, then a 20 yd pass to the Hens 40. Hens stopped UM on 4th and 2 from the Hens 31. Bad exchange b/t the QB and RB or FB causing a fumble.

Hens used a mix of run and pass to march down the UM 15. Setting up a 3rd and 11. WR Mark Mackey one hand catches the bullet from Devlin to put the Hens up 6-0. They blocked the extra point...kicking/blocking game continues to stink.

Just back from the game. Don't let the final score fool you, it wasn't that close of a game. UD just beat them in every phase of the game. Devlin played very well, Mackey made one of the best TD catches you'll ever see.

Wasn't impressed with Havens.

UD should have a healthy poll jump and make the TSN top 25 now. 3 winnable games in a row coming up.

Let's face it. Any of the top 8 or 9 teams in the CAA can beat each other on any given saturday. That's why the most successful CAA team each year in the playoffs is so rarely the autobid. We just beat the hell out of each other in the regular season. Get through it with only three losses and you have as good a chance as anybody of running the table in December.

Not taking much from this game as far as the score goes other than we got off to a good start and UMass was forced out of their game. I still think UMass is a good team.

It was the W&M game in reverse. We weren't as bad as we looked against the Tribe, and UMass wasn't as bad as they looked against the Hens.

From the Hens side though, we needed this. We have proven before today that we could play against the best teams, but lately we haven't gotten over the top for the wins. A few too many of those losses can pysche out a team and toss them into the crapper for the year even if they have talent. With the win tonight, the team has an actual win and can believe in themselves...that makes it easier to play up to it's potential for the rest of the year.

This win comes at a great time also. The offense is finally hitting its stride at game speed. Devlin hasn't had a lot of time to gel with the WRs and it appears he will continue to get better with each game. The OL is growing up after the initial rash of injuries took its toll during the preseason. Anyone know if Burrows is still on track to come back later this month? xeyebrowx The new freshman RBs are also gaining experience at the college level and learning when to hit the holes and when to cut back. And the OC is becoming more confident in the team and his play calling as the players get comfortable with the new schemes.

Towson should be a win next week and another opportunity to get a victory and more practice. Then we have a bye week to set up for JMU at home.

This team should be hitting on all cylinders bye Oct. 31st. If we can pull out the win against JMU and take care of business at home against Hofstra, we will be 7-2 heading into Navy and nova with a chance at being a dangerous addition to the playoffs.

You've pretty much nailed it. All we'd done this year before today was win big against teams we were supposed to win big against, and even the K-State loss wasn't as competitive as the score suggested. I'm going to try to hold on to at least a sliver of hope, and wait until the next two games before I draw firmer conclusions. But today's game gave some good reasons for tempering our expectations.

And boy, we sure were spoiled having Cohen for the past four years.
