Richmond only has 2800 undergrad students, I think the stadium size is fine.

I've got no problem with the stadium size. I'd rather have a place that's sold out from now to forever than a place that may, may only sell out on Parent's Day. Much better environment to be small and packed as opposed to huge and lots of empty seats. xthumbsupx

Are the endzone seats part of the future expantion plan or part of the current construction?

I used to work for a company called A.H. Robins. Can you guys tell me if the original Albert Hall Robins is behind this stadium project? Just curious

It's the same family. The Robins family has been a very generous benefactors of UR for many years.

The stadium is named for E. Clairborne Robins. I think A.H. Robins was his grandfather. E. Claiborne Robins gave UR over $175 Million during his lifetime. Mr. Robins died in 1995 at the age of 84. The Robins Family Foundation gave the final $5 Million to complete the funding for the stadium.

Hopefully that endzone/within-the-track-bend seating structure is not included in this project and will never be completed.
Talk about hokey...

To be honest, it's better to have a smaller stadium to create the illusion of a packed house rather than having a stadium that's too big for your fanbase (Villanova Stadium) I like what Richmond's doing.

Well, to be honest, you can go too small. If you build some stadiums just to fit the fanbase some places would be smaller than some high school stadiums.

Are you speaking of Parsons? That is pretty much a high school field.

Yes, it is part of the project. It is temporary seating that will be installed for football season only. Not ideal, but a decent way to deal with the reality of a track around the field and yet still get fans close to the action and create a very hostile end of the field.

I wish we had better drawings or renderings of what the stadium will look like. We've been looking at the same 4 artist's renderings for the last 2 years. Do we even know if these are the final renderings since they were released so long ago?

There have to be some different plans. The boxes alone look two times the size of the out-dated drawings.

I agree, but we haven't seen anything released from the school besides these drawings.

I am not sure the boxes on the road side of the stadium are actually larger. I think they look like that because the stands have not yet been built. Looking at the picture below, the stands will continue all the up to the walls already built on either side of the Luxury Boxes / Press Box Tower. Now I do think the tower on the opposite side of the stadium does look larger, maybe two levels of luxury boxes instead of one.
