The answer is that TSN has no control over its voters homer votes and there are very little requirements to even get a vote in the TSN poll.
They won't make it public who votes, but if my understanding is correct, its anyone who is somehow considered a member of the media (e.g. broadcaster, reporter, SID, etc.). Not exactly the cream of the crop when it comes to national FCS knowledge.
The funny thing is, I posted a preseason poll done by FCS Now.com and got a whole bunch of crap from some folks on this board who are self-aclaimed members of the "FCS Media". The reason I got that crap - the poll wouldn't list who their voters were.

Yeah. I understand a coaches poll (usually completed by SIDs or possibly asst coaches) probably won't include a public record - I get that. These guys/teams work against each other and you have to just hope their personal/institutional integrity is sound.
But media polls should have a public record of votes! Why should some PT beat writer who doesn't follow FCS on a national level get to vote for some undeserving teams.
I'll also admit that spots 1-15 are fairly good in all the polls. You can debate finer points, but they are all in the ballpark. It's the votes after that need much more evaluation. It's just too easy to vote for any team you like without doing some real research.

I have no complaints about where EKU is rated. We barely lost to a 3-2 Big Ten team and have three conference wins. The only FCS OOC game we have is not until Nov 14 (W. Carolina) and our other remaining OOC game is Kentucky. So we really won't know how we truly stand against the elite of FCS until playoff time as long as we get there.
Again, we have to take it one step at a time and see how it falls out. I do like the progress we are making.

This is really ridiculous. They could even save some face by only including teams with a minimum number of votes ... say half the number of ballots (sort of implying they are on half the ballots at 25). In that case the release would like the following
Team (First-place votes) Record Points Previous Rank
1. Richmond Spiders (106) 4-0 3,394 1
2. Villanova Wildcats (26) 5-0 3,312 2
3. Northern Iowa Panthers (5) 4-1 3,151 3

If the above was the release there would not be nearly the comments. There would certainly still be issues but it might not result in complete an utter disbelief like when you see 0-4 Lehigh getting 22 votes.

Coulson has ties to AGS, why doesn't he incorporate this poll - at least somewhat? People voting here at least have knowledge of what is going on. It is not perfect but look at what is getting passed out to the nation? AGS is probably better.
