View Full Version : NFL Roughing the QB Calls

Anyone see the phantom roughing the QB call on the Ravens Sunday? Ravens D-Lineman is getting blocked from behind falling towards Brady. Brady side steps the D-lineman and the ref throws a flag for roughing the QB. I'm not even sure they touched each other. The ref's explaination was he was going for Brady's knees. That's why the NFL sucks now. This was one of several horrible calls by the officials that changed the outcome of the football game. The NFL needs to recognize that their rules to "protect players" are being enforced too rigorously. It cannot be "black and white". Refs must be allowed to use common sense in determinining intent to cause injury vs. hustling and inadvertent contact. I'm not a Ravens fan but it was sad watching a team lose because of piss poor officiating. This happens way too often in the NFL these days with all of the new pu$$ey rules.

There also was a roughing the passer on NE when the lineman brushed Flacco's facemask. xcoolx

yeah the refs made it clear that you could even breathe on the golden boy. totally bogus. both flags led to long touchdown drives.
Is Mark Clayton on suicide watch or what?

He may try to slice his wrists so he can attach some hands that work.

Solution - promote Breast Cancer Awareness month by putting Brady in a pink jersey and don't let any of the men touch the little girl.
If the league enforced roughing the passer the same way for all QBs the way they seem to protect pretty boy Brady, would McNabb and Hasselbeck be sidelined with rib injuries right now?

I think the roughing the passer called on Flacco was when the D-Lineman had him down already and rolled him over on his back. Still a pathetic call. Harbaugh got a 15 yard personal foul called on him for beotching about the horrible officiating at one point late in the game.
The NFL is just getting harder for me to watch with today's officiating.

May have been another, but there definitely was one where Flacco got brushed in the facemask too.

I missed that one but that is an all too common "roughing the passer" infraction in the NFL. Obviously the Refs are being told to throw the flag in these situations. I just wish they were allowed to use their judgment in determining "intent to harm" vs "inadvertant touching". It has become completely OUTRAGEOUS!

What can I say? I'm an Eagles fan. We're constantly told we're the worst fans in the NFL, so I'm just acting out the self-fulfilling prophecy. xthumbsupx

You always know there is gonna be some ish with the Refs whenver there is Tom Brady involved. It goes all the way back to the tuck rule and has never stopped
