Here are both the coaches poll and the AP poll for this week.

http://espn.go.com/college-football/rankings

In my opinion:
-LSU is definitely not the 4th best team in the country
-Oregon probably deserves to be closer to the 16 in the AP than the 25 they are ranked in the coaches poll, their only loss is to the #5 team in the nation, on the road.

There was some serious mixing up of the polls this week after all those upsets but I think for the most part the pollsters got it right.

with Georgia this week and Florida in two weeks LSU won't be #4 for long. But that's what happens when the teams in front of you lose.

Shame that USF isn't ranked. I know they hadn't played anyone 'til this week, but they're one of the 25 best teams in the nation.

I think that's more of a reflection of FSU than it is USF, plus they've done this before. I think you have to wait a couple of weeks to see if they truly deserve a ranking. Oct. 15 against Cincinnati will tell the tale. (a ticket that game is a nice post bday present for me. xlolx)

With Clemson only scoring 10 points, the fact that Texas State has scored the most points on TCU since Oklahoma LAST season continues to impress me.

GREAT to see Boise in the Top 5 as well.

USC goes from 12th to 7th after pulverizing a pathetic Washington State team at home?!? Good lord, might as well GIVE them the national chamionship at this point.xnonono2x

Agreed! And here Kirk Herbstreit was saying that they didn't deserve to be there, and that the voters would only put them up to 6 or 7. I really would like to see BSU in the BCS conversation, because they are good enough to be there. Just ask Oklahoma.

Similar to the LSU situation stated above. Enough teams in front of them lost, so they moved up. To be fair, USC didn't even pulverize us on Saturday, the final was 27-6 and the Cougs dominated time of possession. Obviously, the outcome was never in doubt but there are teams in the PAC-10 that will beat WSU by significantly more than the Trojans did. After watching USC's past three games I don't think we'll have to worry about them getting into the BCS Championship games, they've been shooting themselves in the foot with enough dumb penalties and turnovers that someone else in the PAC-10 will knock them off (they still have to play at Cal and at Oregon).

I can definitely see LSU losing to UGA next week.
