When it comes to college football on television, it seems like robots - or humanoids looking like the imposing figures of the musicians of the group Daft Punk - rule college football nation. It’s as if they are determining what people will be watching, when, and where. (You might also think that they gamble on the games, like some sort of warped vision from the original Star Trek series. “Four quatloos on Eastern Illinois! Seven quatloos on James Madison!”)
All across the nation there is FCS football available on local TV stations, frequently offering a wonderful buffet of different games for your viewing enjoyment.
But in two of the first three weekends of FCS football, games of the week were unavailable to a national TV audience. It got me wondering: what might it take to convince these robots to broadcast an FCS game of the week nationally? I’d watch it, and certainly a lot of other folks around the country would as well. Why not?
