Didn't see this anywhere, figured there would be some talk. Who's crashing the BCS? TCU or Boise?

Other than a couple of long passes, wasn't too impressed with BYU, especially their defense.

IMO TCU is going to lose to Clemson destroying their hope of crashing

Man BYU got crushed...maybe Oklahoma is worse than we all thought.

BYU couldn't tackle and didn't come out and play with the same intensity they did the previous 2 games. I don't know why, but they got it handed to them.

Boise is going to run the table, not much chance that they loose any of them games left on their schedule unless they really mess up.

I wonder if it comes down to a 12-0 Boise vs. 12-0 TCU, that the open bowl game spot might matter

If it's the Fiesta Bowl with an opening, it'll probably be Boise (again). If it's the Sugar Bowl, then you probably see TCU

Of course, that's not even counting where some of the other bids go. If Notre Dame wins 9 or 10 games (and there's a decent chance of that), they're likely in. If USC winds up not winning the Pac10, but still gets 10 wins, they could get a slot. Same with the runner-up in the Big 10 out of Penn State and Ohio State, and the loser of the SEC title game. Not a pleasant scenario to look at if you're TCU or Boise....

Exactly...they are sitting pretty right now...but one slip up and it all ends for them. I am sure if they run the table they will still get shafted by the big boys in the FBS world...and we will here those talking heads on ESPN debating whether there should be a tournament or not to decide the champion...it is such a recurring issue.

All those scenarios really only matter if you're undefeated but sitting behind another non-BCS team to get into a BCS bowl. The top non-BCS team will get into a BCS bowl, provided they're undefeated. They only need to be in the top 12 and they're guaranteed a spot. At this point, if TCU dumps Clemson, then I can see them leapfrogging Boise State in the polls. If they win out, they will get in over Boise State. Houston's shot is to remain undefeated and for TCU & Boise State to both lose a game.

At this point, Boise State's BCS aspirations are in TCU's hands. If TCU loses, then all Boise State has to do is win out.

What would have really messed things up is if BYU had run the table along with Boise or Houston and the rest of the BCS candidates had 1-2 losses each. In that scenario, BYU would have been a lock for the BCS title game and the #2 team could have made noise about getting a BCS berth, as well. That would have been very entertaining to watch, even though I hate BYU and never want them to finish ahead of Utah in anything.

I was amazed how easily FSU moved the ball.

TCU has a hell of a lot more difficult schedule than Boise. If TCU goes undefeated (and they probably won't) they should get a BCS bid.

I'd like to say that, but I'm not certain it will get seen that way

at Clemson
at BYU
Utah

Outside of those games, it's SMU and the rest of the Mountain West, which doesn't really have much going for it this year. Going to Air Force can be tough, but the Frogs will be heavy favorites. Beating Utah would be nice (especially after last year xbangheadx), but that's not going to look as impressive after the Utes lost to Oregon, a team Boise beat handily. BYU beating Bradford-less Oklahoma, then getting it handed to them at home by an otherwise unimpressive FSU team doesn't reflect so well either

In other words, a 12-0 Boise State vs. 12-0 TCU is not going to be an easy call, unless they're clearly above the other potential at-larges

No, it is an easy call because it will be determined by the polls. While you may be right in that Boise State & TCU will have similar SOS, the reality is if TCU beats Clemson they will more than likely leapfrog Boise State and stay there as long as they win the rest of their games. If Boise State doesn't get leapfrogged by TCU w/a Clemson win, then their order in the polls won't likely change the rest of the season.

TCU's at 14, Boise's at #8, that's a big jump for a win at unranked Clemson

Maybe I'm overreacting to a tough weekend for the MW, or just skeptical that beating the Tigers is enough for the Top 10, but I'll believe it when I see it xpeacex
