CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!xthumbsupxxthumbsupx
Defensive
DB Kris Ankenbauer - North Dakota (5-9, 175, Jr., Murphy, Tex.)
Kris Ankenbauer led the UND defense with a career-high eight tackles (five solo) and two fumble recoveries in the road victory over Northwestern State. In the first drive of the game (6:19), had three tackles (one solo) and recorded his first ever fumble recovery which resulted in a 50-yard, UND field goal for the first points of the game. His second recovery came in the third quarter after a hard hit knocked the ball loose from NWLA’s William Griffin. Ankenbauer leads the Fighting Sioux with 15 tackles (12 solo) and is averaging 7.5 tackles per game. He is also tied for first in the Great West in fumbles recovered and is second in tackles.
Special Teams
K/P Brandon Hellevang - North Dakota (5-10, 189, Sr., Fargo, N.D.)
As a kicker, Hellevang made his second 50-plus-yard field goal in two games in the 27-10 road win. As a punter, he helped UND to a late-game safety with a perfectly placed quick kick inside the Demon five yard line. For the game, he totalled 351 yards punting, including a 54-yard kick and three that dropped inside the 20. His current punt average of 43.9 yards is a UND record. Thus far in 2009, he owns the two longest field goals and two longest punts in the Great West.
The score should be 27-20 not 27-10 but that looks better.;)

As fans - which do you prefer? The Sunday release of this recognition or it coming out on Monday? Seems it's about 50/50 in terms of how the conferences handle their announcements...
