The defenses can change their positioning and play call 3-4 times in the time it takes the offense to get the play going. I guess I'd rather see more hudling and more uptempo with the plays.

All I know is I got a sunburn today. Packing up when it's in the 60s outside makes you forget to bring sunblock. :o

Our o-line was pretty bad today. Seems to be the story of the season again. Devlin was OK today but threw a few long. The run game went nowhere in the first half but seemed to do better late as the Hornets wore out.

Laces Out, IIRC Striefski missed a FG and an XP today. Kickoffs were nothing to write home about either. I think DSU missed a FG too.

An old guy in section B (not far from me in section C) had some kind of distress and had to be taken down about 30 rows by stretcher. It didn't look too good for him at first. He just sort of keeled over to his right as he was sitting and his head was face was down on the bench seat next to him, but he came to after a few minutes of the EMTs working on him.

DelState's band was pretty enjoyable. They did a Michael Jackson show similar to what the Southern band did in a link some Southern fans posted after week 1. DSU's band was louder than UD's band, which is about three times the size.

89, no chest thumping in the NEZ by the Hornets. Much tamer than '07.

They said the crowd topped 20K, but it looked smaller than the reported 19K at the '07 game (which was likely underreported). I'm guessing a sizeable number of season ticket holders either didn't feel like getting up early or went to enjoy a beautiful beach weekend.

GF, did you get to see the giant-sized banner of your hero behind the west stands? If not, I can post a pic. I thought the new player banners and wall of fame banners looked great. Hopefully that's not all we get for the $2M raised by UDAF though.

The flyover was pretty cool. Same lame team intro/entry. Still puzzled as to why they scrapped Hells Bells. I'm also getting tired of the same music loop now for the third game in a row. At least I know when Phil Collins' In the Air Tonight comes on, it's 25 mins to game time.

And the GF and I are doing a day beach trip to Rehoboth tomorrow. We are sun/beach lovers and have to soak up every possible nice day. Hell today we hung out on the Green on UD campus, just throwing the football around and relaxing. Then went to Grottos for the 1st half of the USC/ND/Va Tech/FL games, holy hell was it packed! Ok enough about me!
