ESPNU to air FAMU/S.C. State showdown Oct. 17
September 17th, 2009 by Following the Bulldogs South Carolina State is more than comfortable playing before a nationally-televised audience.
In the eight seasons under Oliver “Buddy” Pough, the Bulldogs own a 14-1 mark. All 14 victories have come against historically black colleges and with former Howard University quarterback Jay Walker performing color commentary. The lone loss was last year’s 37-21 playoff loss to Appalachian State without Walker in the booth.
On Oct. 17, the Bulldogs’ good fortune on TV will be put to the test at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium against Florida A&M. The matchup is considered by many as a pivotal one in determining this year’s MEAC champion.
