Miles Brand, who announced his bout with Pancreatic cancer in January, died earlier today.

I lost my father to pancreatic cancer eleven years ago - its a nasty disease that is hard to fight.

The NCAA says Myles Brand has died after battling pancreatic cancer. He was 67.

The university president turned NCAA chief who pushed for tighter academic standards in college sports and took on Bob Knight died Wednesday.

Well, the title was changed, and the thread moved to another page, but at least I still got credit. Still not sure what this couldn't relate to FCS discussion, since this affects every team in the NCAA - no complaints though. :)

My thoughts are with his family and friends!

Same disease that took Michael Landon. Because of the lack of symptoms it generally is not detected at an early stage.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family...but i personally don't like the guy since he came up with this whole nickname issue. I hope his successor isn't the kind of guy Brand was at the top of the NCAA. As for the cancer issue i hope someday someone will come up with a cure for all cancer from this one to breast to lung to everything. Science has come a long way and hopefully it gets even better.

And the "Last Lecture" guy Randy Pausch (sp?). Nasty disease. RIP. :(
