They put him on IR today, ending his season.

He continued to complain about back problems after every specialist he went to said he's fine and was just having some minor spasms. This all a year after he missed time for psychological issues.

Sad end to a season, and perhaps a career, for a once very promising pro-bowl guard. Another stellar Any Reid first round pick. xnonono2x

It appears he just doesnt want to play football. Thats fine, but I hope he isnt lying about an injury.

Oh man, i can't wait to see Justin Tuck head to head with Winston Justice! Justice can't defend the inside move.

Well, fortunately the Giants offense will have probably bigger problems trying to move the ball against the Eagles again this year. No threat from the WR position means the Eagles can jam the run all day like they did in the last two games last year post-Burress. And the second meeting, up in New York, is in December at night. We all know how Eli does in cold and potentially windy weather. xthumbsupx

Did you watch the Giants game this Sunday? Carlos Rogers and DeAngelo Hall aren't exactly slouches. By that point, Beckum will be involved more in the short passing game plus Nicks and Manningham will have more experience. The reason the Giants were beat by the Eagles in the playoffs last year had more to do with the defense being worn down than the offensive struggles. Everything about that team was hurt. By the middle of the season, teams will be rolling coverages to deal with Mario Manningham.

Maybe Andrews will see a shrink and get straightened out. The guy certainly has the physical talent. With his brother, one would have thought he would be really motivated. We might still see him come October.

Andrews will just be getting his Michael Phelps on for a few years. As for football, he's done, he'll never put the uniform on again.

I'm afraid you're right. He's a head case.

I saw that placing him on the IR meant for the whole year. Is that irrevocable?

Yes, I really think that they need a disabled list in football.
