All the highlighted teams play I-AA football. This is a great showing, gets more recognition for our schools in another arena.

You also missed Iona and Wagner. And given they're adding football soon, you could even add in ODU.

IMHO the Griz should be a lot higher on this list, but I guess we can't complain. As long as they keep winning they will keep moving up.

Only decent wins are Stanford and Drake. MVSU is a pushover as is Utah Valley St, Western Oregon and Loyola Marymount. Just nothing too impressive and the game against Montana Western won't help. We'll know more about you fellas come UW-Milwaukee and Santa Clara games...

And??? Wins over Southern Utah, Alcorn St, UCSB and North Texas...
Losses to Minnesota (toughest team thus far) and Utah Valley St. You have a team like Arizona St that is just "name brand" like Southern Mississippi. Does not mean they are good.
Oh and don't tell me UCSB is any good. They got a two-point win over San Diego and a win at home against a Pepperdine team who only has a win against UC-Irvine and blowouts losses to everyone except UCSB. Oh, the Gauchos also lost to Loyola Marymount who lost to Montana twice...

I also noticed Montana got one vote in the coaches/media polls. Football season is the only time I hate the Griz, I can fully root for them in basketball. :) :beerchug: If MSU doesn't win the tourney (I sure don't think we will), I hope you do; if you keep this up you might even get a decent seed!

Doesn't it say something if 8 out of 10 MVC teams are on the list or receiving votes? To me it means we aren't much of a Mid-Major conference...

If the MWC is to be labeled a "Mid-Major" it is by the far the best. I would love to see a challenge w/the Big Ten. I am guessing the MVC wouldn't do any worse than Big 10 does against the ACC.

How far will Sam Houston move up if we beat Arizona? What if we win the Fiesta Bowl Classic?

That means we'd of gone through Western Kentucky who is well-ranked in this poll as well, more than likely...
A big move up...

The MVC gets two in every year, and last year we got three. And not only do we get the teams in, they play close, hard games. I am fully expecting UNI to get in for the third straight year and actually win at least one game.I also expect the MVC to get two other teams in (at this point it looks like Wichita State and Missouri State, but that will change I'm sure).

Bison beat MM #20 Denver by 16 tonight in Fargo and move to 4-5 on the year. Not bad considering 6 of our top 8 are freshmen.

NDSU looks to be a pretty solid team, along with Idaho State. Playing a nice schedule too.

Whats the deal with So. Illinois. They are usually a solid team that competes well in the NCAA's but it looks like they are off to a shaky start this year.

Yeah, I would like to know too. They seem to be rebounding a little, but with the early losses against "lesser" opponents, I think they may have a rough season in the MVC. Same with Creighton after losing Funk, one of the best two players in the league. :(
But, on a happy note, UNI seems to have finally meshed. We are playing awesome, and just beat Florida A&M by 23 to give us a 7-1 record!
